LinkedIn social network announced that it has reached a stunning number of four million users in Indonesia, one third of its total users in Southeast Asia. In Asia Pacific, the social network has successfully lured no less than 64 million users so far.

“The economic growth in Indonesia is predicted to keep rising up, following up its impressive trend all this time, in which the GDP has gone tripled. This positive growth will add more interests upon Indonesia, thus non-Indonesian professionals need to get updated with Indonesian most current companies,” said LinkedIn’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand Cliff Rosenberg.

He further claimed, “Indonesian professionals are in good position to expand their networking, both nationally and abroad, considering that Indonesia is the main attraction in Southeast Asia. This may provide a strategic knowledge and opportunity trade, in which LinkedIn, that connects all professionals around the world, can play its part.”

The profile of LinkedIn users in Indonesia is as follow:

Young, well-established, mobile, and classy: 70% of LinkedIn users in Indonesia are 25-44 y.o, and hold strategic positions at their companies – 71% are managers or greater, while 22% are decision makers at their organization.
Mobile: 86% of LinkedIn users in Indonesia access internet through mobile devices everyday. Most of them look for new experience by going on vacation (71% went abroad in the past year) or business trip (61% went out of town in the past year)
Ambitious in career development: 90% of LinkedIn users in Indonesia intend to reach the top and 71% perceive LinkedIn as a media to help them doing so.
